- Paste and press Download. We find the video in the post, pick the best quality and prepare an MP4.
- Save it. Press the button on the result card to save the file to your device.
X and Twitter links that work
x.com/…/status/…– the current link formattwitter.com/…/status/…– older links still work
The important part is /status/ followed by the post's number: it points to one specific post. A link to a profile, a list or a search can't be downloaded. Links shared from the app sometimes end in ?s=20 or similar, which you can leave in.
Saving GIFs from X
GIFs on X aren't stored as .gif files. X turns them into short, silent video clips, so the downloader gives you an MP4. It loops in most players, and you can share it in chat apps like any other video. If you need a real .gif file, an image editor can convert the MP4.
Quality and format
X keeps several versions of each video at different sizes. We pick the best one up to 1080p and deliver an MP4 with H.264 video and AAC audio. Most X videos already use H.264, so the picture is copied without re-encoding and the download is quick.
Troubleshooting
The account is protected
Posts from protected accounts are only visible to approved followers, so they can't be downloaded.
The post was deleted
If X shows "This post is unavailable" or "Hmm…this page doesn't exist", the video is gone and there's nothing to fetch.
The post is marked as sensitive
X may only show posts with a sensitive-content warning to logged-in users. Because we never log in, those videos may not be available.
I pasted a link from another platform
That's fine. Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and Pinterest links are recognised here too, and the status line tells you which one was detected.
A long video won't download
Each file is capped at about 500 MB. Mostly long uploads from paid X accounts reach that size.
