How to download Pinterest videos
- Copy the pin's link. Open the video pin, tap the share icon and choose Copy link. The app usually copies a short pin.it link; on a computer you can also copy the address bar.
- Paste and press Download. We follow the link to the pin, find its video and prepare an MP4.
- Save the MP4. Press the button on the result card and the video is saved to your device.
Pinterest links that work
pinterest.com/pin/…– the full address of a single pinpin.it/…– the short link from the share menu
Regional Pinterest sites such as pinterest.co.uk, pinterest.de or pinterest.com.au work the same way. Links to a board or a profile list many pins rather than one video, so open the pin you want first.
Only pins that contain a video
Pinterest mixes photos, animations and videos in the same feed. Only pins that play as a video can be saved. They usually show a play button or a running time in the corner. A pin that is just an image has no video file, so the download will fail.
Some pins don't hold a video at all but link to one on another website. The downloader saves videos hosted on Pinterest itself, so for those, go to the original site.
Pinterest video quality
Pinterest videos are often uploaded at modest sizes, and many are short vertical clips. We save the best version Pinterest provides, up to 1080p, as an MP4 with H.264 video and AAC audio, so it opens on phones, Windows and Mac alike. We can't add detail that wasn't in the upload, so a small original stays small.
Troubleshooting
The pin is on a secret board or was deleted
Secret boards are only visible to their owner and collaborators, and deleted pins are gone. In both cases there is nothing public for us to fetch.
It's an image pin
Image pins have no video track. If the pin shows a play button and still fails, open it in a private browser window to check that the video plays without logging in.
I pasted a link from TikTok or Instagram
The box recognises links from the other supported platforms and downloads them here as well. The status line shows which platform it detected.
The video is too large
Files larger than about 500 MB can't be prepared. Pinterest videos are rarely that big, but long uploads can be.

It's Pinterest's short link. It forwards to the full pinterest.com address of the pin, and you can paste it here as it is.
Can I download a whole board?
No, the downloader saves one pin at a time. Open each video pin and copy its own link.
Can I save Pinterest videos on iPhone?
Yes. In Safari the MP4 goes to Files › Downloads. Open it, tap Share and choose Save Video to move it to Photos.
Why is the downloaded video small or blurry?
The uploader's original was probably low resolution. We always take the largest version Pinterest has, up to 1080p.
Does saving a pin video cost anything?
No. There's no sign-up and no charge; ads on the site cover the running costs.
