How to download a TikTok video
- Tap Share, then Copy link. On the video in the TikTok app, tap the arrow-shaped Share button and choose Copy link. In a web browser you can copy the address bar instead.
- Paste the link above and press Download. We fetch the video from TikTok and prepare the file. If it needs converting (explained below), this takes a few extra seconds.
- Save the MP4. When the result card shows the video's thumbnail and caption, press its button and the file is saved to your device.
TikTok links that work

Short links forward to the full video address, so all three lead to the same file. A link to a profile, a sound or a hashtag page doesn't point to one video, so it won't work. Photo slideshows aren't videos and can't be saved as MP4.
Can you download TikTok videos without a watermark?
TikTok keeps two versions of most videos: one with the moving username watermark, which the app adds when you use its own Save video button, and the clean version that plays in the feed. We save the version TikTok serves for playback, which normally has no moving watermark.
We don't edit or crop videos, so anything the creator put into the video itself, such as captions, stickers or an end card, stays in the file.
Plays on Windows, Mac, iPhone and Android
Many TikToks use HEVC (H.265) video. Phones handle it easily, but Windows often needs a paid codec extension to play it, which is why TikToks saved with other tools sometimes open as a black screen with sound only. When we see HEVC, we convert the video to H.264 and the audio to AAC. The finished MP4 opens in Windows Media Player, QuickTime, VLC and editors such as CapCut or Premiere Pro without extra steps.
Troubleshooting
The video is private or friends-only
TikTok only shows these videos to people the creator has approved. Our server can't see them, so they can't be downloaded. We never ask for your TikTok login.
The TikTok was deleted
If TikTok shows "Video currently unavailable", the creator removed it or TikTok took it down, and there's no file left to fetch.
I pasted a link from another app
That's fine. Instagram, Facebook, X and Pinterest links are recognised on this page too. The status line under the box tells you which platform was detected, and the download works the same way.
The download fails for a video I can watch
TikTok sometimes limits videos by region or briefly throttles requests. Wait a minute and try again. Very long videos that would be larger than about 500 MB can't be prepared.

Can I download TikTok videos on iPhone?
Yes. Open this page in Safari, paste the link and save the file. It goes to Files › Downloads. To add it to Photos, open it there, tap Share and choose Save Video.
Can I save just the sound as an MP3?
Not yet. The downloader saves the whole video as an MP4, which includes its audio track.
How long does a TikTok download take?
Usually a few seconds. Videos that have to be converted from HEVC, and longer videos, take a little longer.
What resolution do TikTok downloads have?
The best version TikTok offers, up to 1080p. Most TikToks are vertical, so a 1080p file is 1080 pixels wide and 1920 tall.
Is there a limit on how many TikToks I can download?
There's no daily limit for normal use and no account needed. If a lot of requests come from one connection in a short time, we ask you to wait a few minutes before trying again.
Is it legal to download TikTok videos?
It depends on where you live and what you do with the video. Keeping a copy to watch offline is usually treated differently from reposting it. Ask the creator before you reuse their work, and read our Terms of Use.
