How to download Instagram Reels
- Copy the link. In the Instagram app, open the Reel or video post, tap the paper-plane Share icon and choose Copy link. On a computer, copy the address from the browser bar.
- Paste it above and press Download. The box recognises Instagram links straight away. Our server then fetches the video and checks that it will play on your device, which usually takes a few seconds.
- Save the MP4. When the result card appears with the video's thumbnail and title, press its button to save the file to your Downloads folder, or to Files on an iPhone.
This works for any public Reel, whether you found it on Explore, under a hashtag or in someone's profile grid. You don't have to follow the account, and you never log in to Instagram through us.
Instagram links that work

Links copied from the app often end with tracking text such as ?igsh=…. You can leave it in. Stories, highlights, live broadcasts and photo-only posts aren't supported.
Instagram Reels download quality
Instagram stores most Reels in several qualities, and we take the best one available up to 1080p. Instagram often delivers Reels as VP9 video, which phones play without trouble but which many Windows PCs and older smart TVs refuse to open. When that happens we convert the video to H.264, the format almost every player supports, and the audio to AAC. If a Reel already uses H.264, its video is copied as it is, so nothing is lost.
Troubleshooting
The Reel is from a private account
Instagram only shows a private account's Reels to approved followers, and our server isn't one of them. Only Reels from public accounts can be downloaded.
The post was deleted or the link is broken
If the creator removed or archived the Reel, the link stops working. Open it in a private browser window: if Instagram says "Sorry, this page isn't available", there's nothing left to download.
I pasted a TikTok or Facebook link here by mistake
No problem. The box works out the platform from the link and downloads it anyway. The status line shows which platform it found.
The video is very long
Files larger than about 500 MB can't be prepared. Reels are short, so this is rare, but long videos in feed posts can reach the limit.
Instagram downloader FAQ
Do downloaded Reels keep their audio?
Yes, the MP4 includes the Reel's sound. If Instagram has muted the music on a Reel for copyright reasons, the downloaded file is silent as well.
Does the creator know I saved their Reel?
We fetch public Reels the same way a logged-out browser views them, and Instagram doesn't send the creator a notification when that happens.
Can I download Instagram Stories?
Not at the moment. Stories disappear after 24 hours and usually need a login to view, so the downloader only accepts Reels and video posts.
How do I get a Reel into my iPhone's Photos app?
Downloads in Safari land in Files › Downloads. Open the video there, tap Share and choose Save Video, and it appears in Photos.
Do I pay anything or need an account?
No. There's no account, no subscription and no daily limit for normal use. Ads on the site pay for the servers.
Can I repost a Reel I downloaded?
Only with the creator's permission. Saving a Reel to watch offline is very different from publishing it as your own. Credit the creator and ask first, and see our Terms of Use.
